Weight Loss Drug Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) Information

As you may have heard in the news, it will be possible for GPs to prescribe Mounjaro for weight management if people are eligible. We can only do this once the service launches in Derbyshire, which is thought to be September at the earliest.  When the service is available in Derbyshire, we will update our website and are very happy to prescribe it for those people who are eligible. People will need to have a body mass index of 40 or more and have four conditions out of:
– Type 2 diabetes
– Hypertension
– Raised lipids
– Cardiovascular disease (angina or a heart attack)
– Obstructive sleep apnoea

We will let eligible patients know when the service starts. There is no need to contact the practice.
